  • 12/21/2025 - Session 1 — Foundations & Safety (2 hrs)
    • Objectives: safety, tools orientation, basic vehicle systems overview, jacking/lifting practice.
    • Demo: safe jack and jack-stand use; PPE.
    • Retrieval of owner’s manual one for each student’s vehicle
    • Hands-on: identify major components, practice jack & wheel chock, read VIN/owner’s manual.

 

  • 12/28/2025 - Session 2 — Tires & Brakes Basics (2 hrs)
    • Objectives: tire inspection/pressure, flat change, brake inspection basics (visual), wheel torque.
    • Demo: change a tire, check tread/wear, use tire pressure gauge, lug torque.
    • Hands-on: rotate a wheel, measure pressure, inspect brake pads/rotors visually.
    • Include: safety brief on lifts if used.

 

  • 01/04/2026 - Session 3 — Fluids, Battery & Basic Electrical (2 hrs)
    • Objectives: check/change engine oil (demo), check coolant/washer/ brake fluid, battery testing/jump start, basic fuses and bulbs.
    • Demo: oil level check and simple oil change demonstration; battery test with multimeter; reading OBD-II error codes overview.
    • Hands-on: battery terminal cleaning, fuse replacement, check oil & coolant levels.

 

  • 01/11/2026 - Session 4 — Preventive Maintenance, Diagnostics & Wrap (2 hrs)
    • Objectives: build a maintenance schedule, interpret basic diagnostics, interpret dashboard lights, troubleshooting checklist, final practical demonstration and assessment.
    • Demo: use handheld OBD-II scanner, show maintenance log example.
    • Hands-on: students run through a 10-step safety/maintenance checklist on a vehicle; final competency demo; course feedback and certificate.
